How Ridgemile handles your information

Effective October 8, 2026

Ridgemile, Inc. ("Ridgemile", "we") makes an iPhone app that guides automotive technicians through vehicle inspections by voice, and the website and tools that go with it. This policy covers ridgemile.com, the Ridgemile iPhone app, the Ridgemile report site (app.ridgemile.com) and the Ridgemile browser extension. Questions go to hello@ridgemile.com.

What we collect

Your account. Your name, email address and how you sign in (Apple, Google, or email and password). If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only see the relay address. We never see your Apple or Google password.

Inspections. When a technician finishes an inspection, the app uploads the report: photos (taken on the phone or on connected Meta smart glasses), grades, notes, an audio recording of the inspection, a timestamped transcript of what the app heard, and vehicle details such as the VIN. We don't ask for vehicle owners' names or contact details, but anything said aloud during an inspection is in the recording and transcript.

Guide calls. If you start an optional live guide call, your microphone audio is streamed live so a remote person can hear you.

Errors. When something breaks, the app and report site send an error report with your account ID, device and app version. Error reports don't include your name, email, passwords or sign-in tokens, or the contents of inspections.

This website. ridgemile.com doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) and runs basic performance monitoring.

How we use it

To run the app: sign you in, build and store inspection reports, write findings in plain shop wording, show reports to your shop, and send an inspection into your shop's management system when your shop asks us to. We also use it to fix bugs and improve Ridgemile. We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run Ridgemile, and only for that purpose:

These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us, and not to train their own AI models.

Meta smart glasses and the Meta AI app are covered by Meta's own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the company, with notice to you.

Report links. Each inspection report has an unlisted web link. Anyone who has the link can view that report, so your shop decides who gets it.

Information from Google

If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address and profile picture, and use them only to create and sign you in to your account. Ridgemile's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Keeping and deleting it

We keep your account and reports while your account is active. To delete your account or any report, email hello@ridgemile.com from the address on your account, and we'll delete it within 30 days. Copies already sent into your shop's management system are kept by that system, under your shop's control.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run Ridgemile. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.

Children

Ridgemile is a tool for working technicians and repair shops. It isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and tell account holders directly before any change that matters.
